Who Can Apply?
Students currently studying in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree programme, and graduates who meet the prescribed qualification requirements, can apply for GATE 2027.
Eligible disciplines include Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts and Humanities. This means GATE is open to eligible students from several academic backgrounds.
Before filling out the form, check the official eligibility criteria for your qualification. Eligibility to take GATE and eligibility for admission to a particular postgraduate programme may differ.

Indian applicants need to register through DigiLocker. Follow the official instructions and keep available the DigiLocker account used for your application.

Check your name, qualification details, selected test paper and uploaded documents. Also read the current fee instructions so you know the amount payable during the late-registration window.
GATE scores are used for admission to various postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Some public sector organisations also use them for recruitment. Qualifying in GATE does not guarantee admission or employment; each institution or organisation has its own selection requirements.
